Hells Bells

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

Thus far I have led a very interesting life. I cannot be bored, so I do not expect this to change. I am grateful.

I have arguably led a very successful and fruitful life.  My career evolves, my travels continue, I have what I need and manage to what I want. I do not covet; I appreciate.

I know good people. I’m constantly inspired and challenged and surprised. The people in my life are game-changers and life-savers. I am surrounded by unicorns.

Now I  lead an ecstatically happy life. There have been expanses of time that this has not been the case. I do not dwell on them as they are over. What I have in front of me now is glorious. In fact, if one of us somehow manages to fuck this up…well, this time has been good. No, it has been amazing. This time has been better than it was known possible to this girl. I’d take five years of bliss over fifteen or fifty of ‘fine’.

I say all this while sitting delayed for 4 hours in BWI after a week of speeches and travel. Perhaps not ideal…but I have wine, I have a book, I have the Internet. I have the prospect of hot husband and home. I have not a damn thing to complain about.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
